Watco Corp is seeking a highly skilled Conductor to join our team in Wausau, WI. As a Conductor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trains, while also providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Train Operations: Control and coordinate train movements, including switching railcars in the yard or at industrial plants.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with train crews, dispatchers, and other stakeholders via radio, verbal, or written instructions.
- Switching Operations: Supervise and coordinate the activities of train crews, including throwing track switches, coupling and uncoupling cars, and applying handbrakes.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of train movements, including car numbers, origin, destination, and cargo.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to ensure timely and efficient delivery of railcars.
- Education: High school education or equivalent.
- Experience: 3 to 6 months of job-related experience or equivalent.
- Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and communicate effectively.
- Certifications: Must be able to pass and obtain all required certifications and reporting.
