Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is a leading provider of diesel truck dealerships, leasing, and rental operations. We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team.

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for auditing and processing weekly payroll, as well as duties related to the upkeep and calculation of employee wages, taxes, and deductions. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment.

• Audit and process weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Calculate employee earnings, commissions, and bonuses, as well as employee deductions and taxes.
• Prepare vendor payments and reconcile related general ledger accounts.
• Post, verify, and file employee status changes, including new hires, transfers, and terminations.
• Determine payroll liabilities by calculating amounts due for federal, state, and city taxes, garnishments, 401k withholdings, etc.
• Process the upkeep of employee garnishments.
• Ensure quality of payroll output by running a series of audits during the pay process.

• Understanding of basic accounting and reconciliation procedures.
• Associates degree in business or accounting, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Must be accurate with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment.
• Computer skills and previous office experience.
