Radiation Therapist Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Trinity Health. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in the radiation treatment process, working closely with radiation oncologists and certified Radiation Therapists to ensure accurate and effective treatment delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the review of patient treatment records for completeness and accuracy
  • Confer with physicians, physics, and dosimetry to clarify treatment plans and ensure consistency
  • Prepare treatment rooms and equipment according to established procedures
  • Explain procedures to patients and position them accurately for treatment
  • Monitor patients during procedures and report any changes in condition to physicians or other patient care personnel
  • Assist in simulation and treatment planning, as well as other procedures within the department of radiation oncology
  • Acquire imaging via CBCT or portal imaging as prescribed by physicians
  • Review images prior to treatment to ensure alignment and make necessary adjustments
  • Schedule patients for treatment and simulations according to department guidelines
  • Inspect equipment safety interlocks and report malfunctions
  • Submit charges for services rendered to patients in accordance with established guidelines
  • Participate in clinical education and training of students
  • Adhere to ALARA guidelines during all procedures
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree in Radiation Therapy or completion of a two-year program in Radiologic Technology followed by a one-year program in Radiation Therapy
  • Minimum of 3 months of on-the-job training or experience
  • CPR certification and ARRT registration or eligibility
