About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Magnetic Resonance Imaging Specialist to join our team at Nyack Hospital. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes.
  • Interview patients to explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures and request removal of metal objects hazardous to patients and equipment.
  • Position patients on examining tables and place specified coils close to areas of interest, following protocols requested by radiologists.
  • Enter data, such as patient history, anatomical areas to be scanned, orientation, and position of entry into aperture of magnetic resonance imaging equipment, into computers.
  • Key commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters and receivers into computers.
  • Monitor patient safety and comfort through observation and communication with patients and staff.
Requirements
  • Two years of MR working experience.
  • ARRT (R)(MR) highly preferred. If not registered in MRI, must be registered within 1 year from date of employment.
  • Licensed with the NYS Department of Health.
  • Must currently possess or obtain within 3 months of hire BLS and IV certification, IV certification training available on-site.
