Position Overview:

The Senior Operations Research and Systems Analyst role combines extensive operational knowledge with advanced technical skills. This position utilizes a broad spectrum of both traditional and innovative analytical methodologies to support and inform leadership decisions in a dynamic global landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement quantitative and qualitative assessments, leveraging data analytics and data science to enhance military decision-making processes.
  • Develop and apply probability models, statistical analysis, simulations, optimization techniques, and data visualization strategies.
  • Engage in various disciplines including personnel management, doctrine development, training oversight, system evaluation, acquisition processes, decision-making analysis, and resource allocation.
  • Contribute to tactical, operational, and strategic planning across multiple levels, from division to combatant commands, and throughout the Department of Defense.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Operations Research and Systems Analyst (ORSA), particularly in Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) within the Department of Defense.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Access.
  • Strong understanding of military training and operational frameworks.
  • Capability to create and deliver analytical reports and presentations for senior military leadership.
  • Possession of a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Army Operations Research or Systems Analysis Functional Area 49.
  • Familiarity with Army Training management and resource allocation.
  • Background in managing an Army Program Evaluation Group.
  • Experience as a military or civilian ORSA action officer on the Army Staff.
  • Top Secret clearance is preferred.
  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research, Data Science, or Statistics.
  • Graduate of Command and General Staff College or an equivalent program.

Clearance Requirements:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information; a Secret clearance is mandatory.
