Job Description

Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Expert to provide guidance on compliance and FAA regulations for new product development programs and upgrades for existing platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development of complex avionic systems in line with ARP4761, ARP4754, DO-297, DO-254 & DO178 recommended practices.
  • Provide compliance guidance for systems level integration activities of aircraft avionic systems including: Control and Display Systems; Navigations Systems; Communication Systems; Surveillance Systems; and Cabin Management Systems.
  • Provide technical assistance to production and customer service departments in support of system technical inquires, issue resolution, and system level enhancement.
  • Prepare presentations on avionics system compliance strategy during design/development for both regulatory authorities and internal leadership audiences.
  • Support system Failure Hazard Analyses for avionic systems.
  • Serve as the system-level expert for integration and coordination activities with various departments and the certification authorities.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in FAA Aircraft Certification.
  • DER authorizations in Part 23 Electrical and Electronic Systems Chart C2 with software.
  • Bachelors' Degree in Engineering, mathematics or Physics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in determination of appropriate environmental test requirements, categories, writing test plans, conducting and witnessing testing, and approving test reports.
  • Working knowledge of system development requirements including: DO-178/C for software, and DO-254 for complex electronic hardware.
