Job Title: Sustainability Operator

Golden State Foods is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sustainability Operator to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of our waste and recycling programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with hazardous and non-hazardous waste related projects, including monitoring air compressors and steam generators, performing daily walk-through inspections of facilities equipment and grounds, and entering work orders.
  • Coordinate with the production team to gather all recycling materials from the building and prepare them for shipment.
  • Work with the facilities team to accomplish repairs to the grounds and facilities as assigned.
  • Must be forklift operator certified or obtain forklift operator certification within 30 days of appointment into position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to use mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in accordance with production paperwork.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Working Conditions:
  • Constantly work in damp, wet, humid, and slippery environments.
  • Constantly work near moving equipment in extreme heat/cold degrees.
  • Constantly work in high noise levels requiring hearing protection.
  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne debris.
  • Occasionally work with toxic or caustic chemicals.
