Sappi North America is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at Sappi Cloquet, a leading manufacturer of high-quality graphic papers. As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for managing capital projects, providing technical engineering and project management oversight, and assisting with troubleshooting related to operations and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage capital projects through all phases, including pre-feasibility study, conceptual design, execution planning, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, optimization, and close-out.
  • Develop scope of work, schedules, and estimates for capital projects as required for budgeting.
  • Provide technical engineering and project management oversight for the design, installation, and maintenance of plant systems.
  • Assist with troubleshooting related to operations and maintenance.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies related to area.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university required.
  • Civil engineering experience in an industrial setting, including proven project management, structural design, and civil infrastructure design skills, is preferred.
  • Pulp and Paper experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project) and AutoCAD are preferred.
