About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Chatham Bars Inn International Acct. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional to take on a leadership role in food preparation and presentation, working closely with the Sous Chef to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety.

Job Description

The Junior Sous Chef will be responsible for preparing, assembling, and presenting ingredients according to company recipes and specifications, ensuring the quality of cooked/prepared food while utilizing a range of kitchen skills including slicing, grinding, frying, and baking during food service. The successful candidate will also be responsible for requisitioning supplies and food items, detecting and disposing of unattractive and spoiled foods, promoting workplace safety, food safety, and customer safety, drafting working schedules, training subordinate staff, maintaining order and discipline in the kitchen, creating tasting menus and customized menus for functions, developing cross-marketing strategies, and ensuring equipment is in good condition.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 months' experience as a Junior Sous Chef
  • Ability to lift and carry food and kitchen supplies weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
