Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Furnace Operator to join our team in Auburn, Indiana. This is a 2nd shift position with a competitive hourly rate of $21.00.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering molten metal to die cast machines via forklift, maintaining proper metal properties, and performing regular temperature checks.

Furnace Operator Responsibilities:

  • Deliver molten metal to die cast machines via forklift.
  • Maintain proper metal properties and metal levels in melt and holding furnaces.
  • Perform metal temperature checks and record temperature readings.
  • Assist with metal quality checks by making aluminum pucks for lab analysis.
  • Clean melt and holding furnaces using flux and removing dross.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on furnace equipment.

Furnace Operator Requirements:

  • 1-3 months related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Forklift experience required.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and stoop for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects up to 55 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to read, write, perform basic math calculations, and complete visual inspections.
