Key Responsibilities
- Implement emergency triage protocols for patient intake, discharge, or admission.
- Provide stabilizing care to emergency patients across all age groups, adjusting treatment as necessary based on patient condition.
- Utilize cultural awareness to deliver sensitive and appropriate patient care, documenting nursing assessments and changes in patient status.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes, including mentoring and enhancing patient experiences.
- Conduct thorough nursing assessments related to chief complaints and coordinate patient disposition (discharge, admission, transfer).
- Understand and comply with EMTALA requirements, including conducting medical screening exams.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, identify arrhythmias, and respond appropriately.
- Activate emergency response plans as needed (e.g., Code Blue, Trauma Code).
- Apply ACLS guidelines effectively in various situations, including defibrillation and medication administration.
- Manage airway and critical care for severely ill or injured patients, assessing hemodynamic status and intervening as necessary.
- Demonstrate proficiency in specialty procedures, including central line placements and intubation.
- Ensure accurate titration of medications as prescribed.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Possess an active Registered Nurse License in North Dakota, with compact state licensure accepted.
- Compact RN license holders must secure North Dakota licensure within a specified timeframe if residing in the state.
- Hold current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Certified in ACLS, TNCC, NRP, and PALS.
