Geological Logging Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Geological Logging Specialist to join our team at WTS Energy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing on-location geological and drilling data collection and reporting to customers.

About the Role:
In this role, you will act as the lead position responsible for job execution and overall performance. You will be responsible for company assets on location and ensure that adequate supplies and equipment are present at the well site at all times. You will also offer advice on equipment capabilities and gather accurate and factual logging information.

Key Responsibilities:
* Gathers accurate and factual logging information (Depth, Gas Units and Composition, Rate of Penetration, Lag Time, etc.)
* Interprets logging information to determine occurrence and composition of any oil and/or gas shows which occur while drilling
* Analyses and documents according to SDL zone of interest and/or show reports
* Provides lithological descriptions of all formations drilled and identify formation name, group, or member
* Assembles mud logging information into mud logs and drilling database following established SDL and/or customer guidelines and procedures
* Communicates mud logging information to customers as necessary to fulfill their requirements (morning report, show notification, engineering problems, delivery of mud logs)
* Performs any specialized tests or gathers any additional data as required by the customer
* Maintains transmittal sheets and performs safe, neat professional rig-up and tear-down when needed

Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Geology
* Minimum of 2 years relevant field experience
* Deepwater experience;
* Prior SDS as an SDL;
* Must possess good communication skills, arithmetic, data entry and recording skills;
* Must have successfully passed company tests, or met task guideline requirements;

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per annum based on experience and qualifications.

Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will work on a 12-hour tour-a-day basis with 28/28 day mileage rates and approved distance from the Broussard facility to the dock location only. A daily per diem of $35 is included in the salary package.
