Maintenance Director Job Description

At FutureCare, we are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Director to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive maintenance prevention program that ensures the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and monitor maintenance staff and contractors to ensure high-quality work and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program to minimize equipment downtime and extend the lifespan of our facilities.
  • Oversee and approve all necessary repairs, maintaining accurate records and logs, and producing required reports.
  • Inspect maintenance work for quality, safety, and compliance, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
  • Verify daily logs of refrigerator temperatures and validate daily tests and logs of water temperatures within the facility.
  • Mandate and observe budgetary guidelines regarding supplies and services, following proper procedures for purchasing and approval.
  • Act as chairperson for the Safety Committee, ensuring compliance with State and Federal Regulatory codes.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent; college graduate a plus.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a maintenance supervisory role.
  • General knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, roofing, and grounds.
  • General knowledge of the principles of supervision, organization, and administration.
  • Ability to exercise considerable independent judgment and tact in contacts with facility staff, contractors, and the general public.
