Laboratory Courier

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Courier to join our team at Norman Regional Health System. As a Laboratory Courier, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Obtain specimens from patients for laboratory procedures.
• Process specimens for analysis, storage, and reference lab testing.
• Instruct patients and other personnel on proper specimen collection, labeling, storage, documentation, billing, and transport requirements.
• Transport specimens to facility.
• Visit multiple laboratory locations and outreach clients in the surrounding areas.

Requirements:

• High school education or equivalent GED required.
• Some knowledge of medical terminology and skill in using computers, including word processing.
• Three months of customer service experience, or experience working as a certified phlebotomist, or six months of experience in a medical field providing patient care, including drawing blood.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employment.
• Valid driver's license with two points or less on your MVR.

Compensation and Benefits:

• $14.29-$23.34 per hour depending on previous work experience.
