Boiler Operator

At Hood Lumber, we are seeking a skilled Boiler Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our boilers, ensuring a consistent supply of steam to power our industrial processes.

• Operate and maintain boilers to generate steam, adhering to strict safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor and control boiler performance, adjusting fuel feed, draft openings, and water levels as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, inspecting, and repairing boiler equipment.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure seamless operation of auxiliary units and equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections to detect potential issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of meter and gauge readings, water test results, and fuel consumption data.
• Operate front-end loaders and other equipment as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with varying temperatures and wood dust exposure.
• Physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights.
• Excellent attendance record and ability to comply with attendance policies.
• Pass a mechanical assessment and boiler test if selected.
