  • Education and Licensure: Graduation from an accredited college of pharmacy is required. Professional licensure in New York State and current registration certificate to practice pharmacy in New York State are also required. A Pharmacist Doctorate (Pharm D) is preferred.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in program and service development, quality assurance, medication use indicator experience, and cost containment programs is essential. Two to six weeks of orientation, depending on prior experience, is required.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Good supervisory skills, good manual dexterity, strong knowledge of math, and strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Ability to operate various machinery, including personal computers, laminar flow hoods, biological hoods, compounding devices, telephones, fax machines, hospital computer systems, copy machines, prescription balances, and automated medication dispensing machines, is also required.
