Job Summary

This role involves interpreting and processing medication orders, preparing and dispensing medications, and counseling patients on proper usage and potential adverse effects. You will also participate in continuous quality improvement activities and promote patient safety through coordination with other team members.

Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and process medication orders issued by providers for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriateness
  • Prepare and dispense medications for patients of all ages
  • Counsel patients on proper usage, desired effects, and potential adverse effects of medication
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and promote patient safety
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Graduate from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Pharmacist licensure in the state of South Dakota
