Medical Assistant Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at OU Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Physicians and Medical Staff: Provide support to physicians and medical staff during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient care experience.
- Perform Routine Tests and Procedures: Conduct routine tests and procedures, such as vital sign measurements, EKGs, and urinalyses, to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Accurately document patient information, medical histories, and test results, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate Schedules and Appointments: Coordinate patient schedules, appointments, and referrals, ensuring seamless communication between healthcare providers and patients.
- Provide Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks, such as ordering supplies, maintaining inventory, and performing clerical duties, to ensure the smooth operation of our healthcare facility.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Experience: 6 months of experience in patient care as a Medical Assistant or 6 months performing electronic order entry as a qualified Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire; Medical Assistant certification from a recognized organization, such as American Medical Technologists (AMT), American Association of Medical Personnel, or American Allied Health, preferred.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology: Possess a basic understanding of medical terminology and concepts.
- Effective Communication: Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring effective interaction with patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues.
- Attention to Detail: Maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks and responsibilities.
- Teamwork and Adaptability: Demonstrate a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team, adapting to changing priorities and circumstances as needed.
