The Section Chief of Geriatric Medicine is a key leadership position responsible for the overall direction and management of the Geriatric Medicine Section at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health. This role requires a strong clinical background in geriatrics, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team to achieve departmental goals.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for the care of older adults across inpatient, ambulatory, long-term care, rehab, and home settings.
- Lead the Section leadership team in creating a work environment of mutual respect and psychological safety, based on commitment to a shared purpose.
- Ensure the quality and quality improvement of patient care, teaching, research, and service in the Section.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with referring physicians and hospitals within our hospital system, the state, and northern New England.
- Identify and respond to regional opportunities to advance sectional, departmental, and institutional goals related to clinical care, teaching, and research.
- Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO)
- Post graduate training in residency program
- Geriatric Fellowship Highly preferred
- NH and VT license or willing to get
- DEA registration
- Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in IM, Geriatric or FM and Geriatrics
