POSITION OVERVIEW

Your contributions will be vital in providing exceptional care and supporting the health of our community members.Rochester Regional Health offers a variety of services, including inpatient detox, substance use disorder rehabilitation, emergency services, imaging, physical therapy, and respiratory therapy.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Master's Degree in Physical Therapy
Preferred:
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or PhD in Physical Therapy
Required:
Valid and active New York State Physical Therapy license or temporary permit in accordance with NYS Practice Act guidelines, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (current or scheduled)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Adhere to established policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance protocols, safety standards, and infection control measures.
Conduct initial patient evaluations to assess impairments and determine rehabilitation potential.
Design individualized physical therapy treatment plans, including functional mobility training, assistive device instruction, therapeutic exercises, and modalities such as massage, heat, and cryotherapy.
Administer diagnostic and progressive assessments of muscle, nerve, joint, and functional capabilities.Guide and support patients in their therapeutic routines, delegating routine tasks to support staff as appropriate. Supervise to ensure adherence to care standards.
Modify traditional physical therapy techniques to cater to individual patient needs.
Participate in training sessions for medical and nursing staff on physical therapy methods and objectives.
Document and communicate patient progress to the rehabilitation team, including physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Provide counseling to patients and families based on the level of disability or impairment.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mentor and train team members to uphold departmental standards.
Manage scheduling to ensure adequate coverage.
Identify and spearhead process improvement initiatives to enhance compliance and streamline workflows.
Collaborate with other departments to align goals and meet the needs of the rehabilitation services.
Act as a substitute for the manager during their absence.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
M - Medium Work - Requires exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; involves frequent walking, standing, or squatting.
COMPENSATION RANGE:
$ $52.00
The stated base pay range reflects the current potential base pay for successful candidates. It may be adjusted in the future based on factors such as experience, qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contractual agreements.
