Job Summary:

As a key member of the Medstar team, the HVAC Technician will be responsible for performing highly skilled maintenance and repair work on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of theoretical and practical knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, including ice machines, refrigerators, freezers, water coolers, and air conditioning units.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance and efficiency of equipment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment, making recommendations for quality improvement or cost containment.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to identify learning needs and participate in training and development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly and professionally to customer requests and inquiries.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Equivalent work experience in lieu of education may be considered.
  • Completion of trade school and/or apprenticeship program required.
  • 3-4 years of related experience required.
  • CFC certification required.
  • HVACR (MD) certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including State, Federal, and JCAHO regulations.
