Adjunct Instructor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a part-time Nursing instructor to support our Practical Nursing Program. The successful candidate will work with students in the clinical and lab setting, meeting specific learning needs and ensuring a positive, professional representation of the college at all times.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement clinical experiences that are meaningful for students and related to current or previous learning.
  • Work with nursing faculty and students to facilitate learning and provide a supportive role.
  • Ensure that students meet specific learning needs and objectives.
  • Provide positive, professional representation of the college at all times.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in Virginia.
  • ADN required.
  • A minimum of two years' full-time work experience in the field.
  • Ability to work well with nursing faculty and students to facilitate learning.
  • Experience with clinical simulation use in nursing education or willingness to learn.
  • Current CPR (BLS for healthcare providers) and documentation of all routine healthcare employee immunizations.
  • Flexible schedule; ability to travel to various hospitals and long-term care facilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • RN licensure clinical experience.
  • BSN.
  • Long-term and acute care experience.
  • Teaching and/or preceptorship experience.
