Job Summary and Qualifications


The Endoscopy Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering professional surgical nursing care to patients by utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with other healthcare team members, including physicians, to ensure high-quality care.

The Endoscopy Nurse is tasked with maintaining effective communication with surgical technologists, fellow Registered Nurses, surgeons, patients, and their families, as well as other surgical team members.


Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in emergency procedures as well as elective and scheduled surgeries.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to guarantee optimal patient care.
- Act as a liaison between the surgical team and patients' families.
- Organize necessary supplies for patient care.
- Administer medications according to physician orders.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care in achieving desired patient outcomes and adjust care as necessary.
- Provide direct nursing care and/or oversee patient care in line with the nursing care plan, including treatments, medication administration, hygiene, and monitoring vital signs.

Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program; an Associate degree in Nursing or higher is required.
- Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or possess an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross is required.
- A minimum of one year of nursing experience is strongly preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
