Responsibilities
The Residential Care Specialist provides on-site nursing and attendant care to adolescents/young adults residing in Newport Healthcare facilities. Key duties include:
Administering medications as prescribed
Obtaining and documenting vital signs in the medical record
Evaluating medical complaints/concerns from residents during on-site hours and relaying information to the appropriate NP/MD
Completing treatment plans when indicated, providing direct care and nursing services to clients as prescribed by program regulations, and conducting client health screenings
Monitoring chronic health conditions, respiratory distress, and seizures
Maintaining accurate and timely records, including but not limited to Medication Administration Record, medical records, medical charts, and infection control logs
Participating in multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings as needed
Complying with all mandated reporting requirements, biohazard program requirements, medical protocols, infection control, and other relevant regulations
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess a current and unrestricted Registered Nurse License in the state applying for work. Experience in residential nursing is a plus. Additionally, you must pass the applicable state/agency background check required for the work location jurisdiction, prior to employment. Pre-employment drug screening and a current and valid CPR certification are also required. Pay range is $38.00 to $45.00 per hour, depending upon education and experience.
