Job Summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team. As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting physicians with sterile procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with sterile procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring aseptic and sterile techniques are observed.
  • Maintain intra-arterial access as prescribed by Interventional Radiologists, Vascular Surgeons, and Cardiologists.
  • Participate in physiologic monitoring of patients and utilize proper positioning criteria and technical exposure factors.
  • Ensure study has correct patient demographics prior to procedure and transferring images into PACS.
  • Assist as needed with all members of the healthcare team, handling various job tasks simultaneously.
  • Input procedural charges into the computer system.
  • Apply appropriate use of PPE and follow OSHA/UnityPoint's Infection Control policies.
  • Operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner.
  • Utilize the knowledge and skills for age-specific factors necessary to perform safe and effective procedures on patients of all ages.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of procedure-specific equipment (Thrombectomy Devices, Atherectomy Devices, Sonosite US, and other endovascular specific devices).
  • Knowledge of fluoroscopic equipment (Siemens Artis-zee C-Arm).
  • Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Interventional and Vascular Radiology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Independent judgment and anticipate physician needs.
  • Ingenuity and initiative character on a daily basis.
  • 1-2 years of Interventional Radiology training/experience.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiology or healthcare-related field (Preferred).
