We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the Department of Mental Health, Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality nursing care to adult psychiatric patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care to adult psychiatric patients, including those with co-occurring disorders, utilizing age-specific interventions.
- Conduct ongoing nursing assessments and participate in treatment team planning, including employing interventions and evaluating outcomes.
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and education in patients' medical records in real-time.
- Communicate findings as appropriate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Perform medication administration utilizing a closed-loop style and monitor process to evaluate compliance, deviation from normal conditions, effectiveness, and completion of medication education.
- Precept new licensed staff to the unit and serve as a resource to other disciplines and subordinate nursing staff regarding medical issues.
- Assist in auditing clinical records to evaluate professional practice standards and quality of care.
- Report adverse events, unusual occurrences, and medication variances in an accurate and timely manner.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the State Board of Nursing for South Carolina.
- Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in nursing and one year of experience, or a three-year diploma and one year of experience, or an associate degree in nursing and one year of clinical experience.
