We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation of the operating room and selection of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Perform preoperative preparation of patients, including skin preparation, draping, and positioning.
- Hand instruments to the surgeon as requested and assist with gowning and gloving of the surgical team.
- Perform related duties associated with basic patient care, including picking up blood, delivering specimens, and checking emergency carts.
- Prepare supplies for sterilization and assess the environmental needs of the area.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology and certified by the Association of Surgical Technologists or National Center for Competency Testing.
- Two years of experience in an inpatient or outpatient surgical setting preferred.
