Position Overview:

We are looking for a proficient HVAC Mechanic to become an integral part of our operations. This role is essential for the effective maintenance, repair, and operation of heating, cooling, steam/hot water boilers, and related auxiliary equipment within the HVAC domain. Additionally, the role encompasses performing electrical, plumbing, and general facility maintenance duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation and Maintenance: Carry out the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems and associated fixtures, including cutting, threading, assembling, and installing pipes; connecting valves, caulking joints, and conducting tests on completed jobs.
  • Electrical Systems: Execute journey-level work up to 600 vac in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of secondary electrical systems, including conduit wiring, electrical panels, breakers, and light fixtures.
  • Control Systems: Diagnose and rectify control system faults, adjust or replace temperature controls, and perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Boiler Operations: Troubleshoot and repair boilers, fan turbines, pumps, and other equipment necessary for generating and controlling steam.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Participate in a quarterly on-call program, which includes carrying a pager.
  • Be available for overtime and alternate shifts during emergencies.
  • Assist with snow and ice removal as directed.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent is required, along with demonstrated competencies necessary for the role. Experience in relevant trades may substitute for formal education on a year-for-year basis.

Required Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of pneumatic controls and DDC type controls.
  • Effective verbal communication skills with supervisors and the public.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CFC Universal Certification.
Licensing:

A valid driver's license is required within a specified timeframe of hire.
