Job Summary

The Structural Staff Engineer will play a key role in project planning and design, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure effective collaboration and timely completion of projects. This individual will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of structural designs and drawings, as well as coordinating with internal teams to address structural-related issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of structural designs and drawings, including solar-related foundations and support structures
  • Conduct research on project specifications, determine applicable building codes, and ensure specific project requirements are addressed in design
  • Apply department and relevant standards to prepare calculations and drawings in accordance with project specifications
  • Coordinate with internal teams to address structural-related issues or concerns
  • Provide drafting support in AutoCAD for the production of structural design plans
  • Perform pile design, foundation design, and construction quality control
  • Apply geotechnical and corrosion recommendations in design
Requirements
  • 0-3 years of experience in civil/structural engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited four-year college or university program
  • Preferred master's degree with a structural emphasis
  • Ability to utilize spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and computer operations
  • Working knowledge of codes, including IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, PCI, and NDS
  • Working knowledge and skills in AutoCAD, MS Office, MathCad, Risa 3D, or other FEA, RISA Foundation, and LPile or similar software
