Clinical Nursing Director

As a Clinical Nursing Director at Kaiser Permanente, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing inpatient nursing services within a service line. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and execute strategic plans, ensuring high-quality care and cost-effective services that meet federal, state, and local regulations.
You will be accountable for achieving the strategic vision for nursing in your assigned areas of responsibility, ensuring the quality of nursing care and services to patients. You will also be responsible for maintaining key relationships with clinical and administrative director peers, chiefs of service, and other department directors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer and other medical center management to identify and implement innovative models and best practices.
- Direct the development and implementation of quality and utilization standards across the continuum of care.
- Coordinate with TPMG to provide seamless transitions of patients across the continuum of care.
- Establish partnerships with facility leadership groups and ensure a superior care experience and a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Provide clinical and professional oversight for areas of accountability.
- Assure successful implementation of organizational strategies such as Hospital Efficiency, Work Place Safety, and Supply Cost Initiative.
- Mentor nursing managers in development of leadership skills and outcomes-based practice.
- Oversee the development of department standards as identified by regulatory agencies.
- Develop services that achieve a high level of customer satisfaction with emphasis on customer service, highest standards of quality, and innovation.
- Maintain a state of continuous regulatory readiness.
- Manage and resolve human resource, labor relations, employee, and department safety and risk management issues.
- Enhance nursing practice and patient outcomes through the effective use of clinical practice and GRASP committees.
- Participate in developing the hospital's plan for the recruitment and retention of nursing resources.
- Utilize research data to implement clinical changes and the delivery of patient care and member services.
- Access KP Health Connect to evaluate the quality of care provided and manage clinical operations.
- Direct the budget and resource allocations for designated departments.
- Communicate effectively as a hospital advocate to members of the community.
Requirements:
- Minimum seven (7) years of nursing experience in patient care.
- Minimum five (5) years of management experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Magnet/shared governance experience preferred.
- Managing in a collective bargaining environment preferred.
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD in Nursing preferred.
