Nurse Practitioner

Princeton University is seeking a skilled and compassionate Infirmary Registered Nurse to join our team at University Health Services. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our students, faculty, and staff.
Job Summary:The Infirmary Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, providing medical care and support to patients with a variety of health concerns. You will work closely with our healthcare team to assess patients, develop treatment plans, and provide education on health management and prevention.
Responsibilities:- Conduct telephone and in-person triage following established protocols.
- Administer independent nursing appointments for patients who do not require a provider visit.
- Support physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in their clinical duties.
- Assess and monitor patients with urgent concerns until a final decision or medical evaluation is completed.
- Administer treatments and medications as required based on standing orders.
- Provide patient education on health management and preventative care.
- Perform point-of-care testing as needed.
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse licensure in good standing.
- 3-5 years of nursing experience in an emergency department setting.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Experience in telephone and in-person triage.
- Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
- Proficiency in basic nursing procedures, including venipuncture, intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections; nebulizer treatments; wound care; and infection prevention.
- Ability to conduct thorough physical assessments and identify both normal and abnormal signs and symptoms independently.
- Competence in administering treatments and medications in accordance with established protocols.
- Physical capability to move and assist patients, navigate the unit, and stand for extended periods.
- Strong independent decision-making skills.
- Effective in delegating tasks clearly and comfortably to others.
- Ability to manage stressful situations and maintain composure under pressure.
- Efficient use of human and material resources.
- Customer service-oriented approach.
- College Health experience.
- ACLS Certification.
- Experience working autonomously in a supervisory position.
