Position Overview
Under general supervision, the Physical Therapist provides essential rehabilitation services by assessing patient needs, establishing treatment objectives, and creating comprehensive therapy plans in compliance with the Maryland Physical Therapy Practice Act.
Key Responsibilities
The therapist will exhibit proficiency in managing diverse patient demographics within the acute care environment.
Educational Requirements
Possession of a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy is mandatory.
Experience Requirements
A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required, with specific experience in acute care settings.
Essential Skills
- In-depth knowledge of physical therapy principles, methodologies, and standards.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Competence in assessing patient functionality, formulating treatment strategies, and tracking patient advancements.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and efficiently manage patient scheduling.
- Proficiency in utilizing standardized assessments to substantiate documentation.
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
- Capability to maintain an average caseload in alignment with productivity benchmarks.
- Expertise in treating at least two high-risk patient groups.
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Licensure and Certifications
- Must hold a current Maryland license as a Physical Therapist.
- Certification in CPR for Healthcare Providers is required.
