Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team at LaBine and Associates. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing federal and multi-state consolidated tax returns, as well as assisting with annual tax accrual calculations and financial statement footnote disclosures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare consolidated tax returns for multiple entity groups, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist with annual tax accrual calculations and financial statement footnote disclosures, providing critical support to our financial reporting team.
  • Research and stay up-to-date with all relevant laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with tax requirements.
  • Work closely with other department members to identify opportunities to reduce company tax liability.
  • Prepare and file all sales/use tax returns, annual reports, and US Census Bureau reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide expert advice on tax-related matters to other company personnel, ensuring they are well-informed and compliant.
  • Oversee and maintain tax fixed asset listings using Sage Software (FAS 500), ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist with tax-related due diligence for prospective company acquisitions, providing critical support to our M&A team.
  • Maintain a due date listing to ensure all tax returns are filed on time, minimizing potential penalties and fines.
  • Serve as a backup for cash posting processes and bank account reconciliations, providing additional support to our finance team.
  • Work with company personnel to prepare and file all IRS Forms 1099 MISC in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with other finance personnel on special projects, leveraging expertise to drive business results.
  • Assist the department with risk management and insurance functions as needed, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the department with unclaimed property projects as needed, providing critical support to our compliance team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in public accounting, with 3-5 years of experience in tax (preferably with corporate consolidated return experience).
  • Strong knowledge of sales/use tax, corporate and payroll taxes, as well as General Ledger and other financial procedures.
  • Proficiency in JD Edwards and SAP Accounting software, SAGE software (FAS 500), Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software, and Microsoft Word Processing software.
  • Consolidated Tax Return software knowledge is a plus (Go Systems).
