In this role, you will tackle complex technical support assignments related to mission-oriented programs that demand a high level of expertise and responsibility. You will interpret, select, adapt, and apply guidelines and principles within your technical specialization, which may include:

Your work will involve the application of advanced techniques and new automation tools to enhance workforce support.


Qualifications
To be eligible for this position, candidates must be U.S. Citizens and meet the experience requirements outlined below.

Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer activities through National Service programs and other organizations.

Your resume must clearly articulate your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, transcripts will be required.


Specialized Experience
To qualify, you must have at least one year of experience that prepares you for the duties of this position. Specialized experience includes:
  1. Providing expert-level IT assistance to clients, including VIPs and the R&D workforce.
  2. Conducting technical evaluations of IT systems and possessing knowledge of scripting tools for automating IT support functions (e.g., PowerShell).
  3. Acting as a subject matter expert in IT support and collaborating with other agencies and industry partners.

This specialized experience must demonstrate the following competencies:

  1. Attention to Detail: Thoroughness in work and conscientiousness in detail.
  2. Customer Service: Ability to assess client needs and provide effective solutions.
  3. Oral Communication: Skill in effectively conveying information to various audiences.
  4. Problem Solving: Capacity to identify issues and develop sound recommendations.

For this position, experience is required; no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Additional Information
This announcement utilizes the STRL direct hire authority to recruit qualified candidates for specific positions in the competitive service. This role is covered under an alternative personnel system known as the Science and Technology Reinvention Laboratory Management Demonstration Project, which replaces GS grade levels with occupational families and pay bands. The salary range will not decrease due to this change.
