BioEnergy DevCo is a leading bioenergy company that specializes in the development and operation of anaerobic digestion facilities. Our Maryland Bioenergy Center is currently under construction and requires an experienced Plant Operator to oversee its daily operations.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Anaerobic Digestion Operator to join our team at our Jessup, MD facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our anaerobic digestion plant, wastewater treatment facility, and associated gas cleaning equipment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with process control, operations, and maintenance of AD/WW facilities. This role involves assisting in commissioning activities, performing daily tasks, and maintaining records related to organic feedstock intake and plant operations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in commissioning and startup activities
• Perform daily activities related to the safe and efficient operation of the facility
• Maintain tidiness and good housekeeping throughout the plant
• Monitor AD feeding, gas production, digestate production, and wastewater treatment processes
• Make minor process control adjustments as required to ensure proper operation
• Perform regular checks of mechanical equipment and determine the need to adjust, repair, or maintain equipment
• Monitor chemical use and make minor dosing adjustments as required
• Ensure the plant operates within health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in operating WW treatment and/or AD facilities
• Possession of a MD 5A Wastewater certificate or ability to obtain one via reciprocity
• Knowledge and experience operating advanced wastewater treatment systems (BNR/ENR)
• Familiarity with instrumentation and controls, SCADA systems, and laboratory analysis
• Able to perform basic water quality analysis and operate solids dewatering equipment

Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience

The successful candidate must be able to stand, sit, walk, stoop, twist, bend, climb ladders, crawl, balance, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
