Summa Health System is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at the Imaging Center White Pond. As a Mammography Technologist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality breast radiographs to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
Key Responsibilities:
• Produce breast radiographs upon physician's order
• Perform routine staff technologist duties as time permits
• Understand methods and provide or assist with physical breast inspection or palpation
Requirements:
• Graduate of an A.M.A. approved school of Radiologic Technology
• Registered by the A.R.R.T.
• A.R.R.T. Mammography Certification or must obtain within first year of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
• Near visual acuity to assess film quality
• Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism in dealing with stressful situations and confidential personal information
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Manual dexterity sufficient to calibrate and operate equipment, properly position patients, and to apply and adjust compression devices
• Ability to lift and position patients
• Ability to utilize computer system and file system to facilitate records management as directed by Manager and/or Supervisor
• Ability to initiate CPR (CPR Certification)
• Ability to perform venipuncture (this requirement may be waived at designated locations)
• Updates knowledge and skills through membership participation in professional associations, attending meetings and seminars, and reading professional journals and periodicals
• Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity
Compensation:
$33.08/hr - $39.70/hr
