Geotechnical Engineering Internship Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Geotechnical Engineering Intern. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in geotechnical engineering and transportation engineering.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist professional staff with data collection and analysis from geotechnical investigations and instrumentation throughout the state.
  • Participate in field work, including hiking and light physical labor.
  • Conduct geophysical investigations, lab testing, drafting, and technical communication.
  • Participate in construction inspections and geohazard evaluation.
Requirements:
  • Enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute.
  • Completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program by the start of the internship.
  • Preference given to junior/senior students, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
