Job Overview

SMART Resources is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in the Pasadena area.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery, including construction equipment such as rollers, dozers, excavators, and front-end loaders. Experience with Caterpillar, Cummins, Kubota, and Scania equipment is a plus.

This role requires a strong understanding of diagnostics and repair techniques, as well as the ability to work independently and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including diesel and construction equipment.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine necessary repairs.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems effectively.
  • Repair or replace defective parts using OEM specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of service performed and parts used.
  • Collaborate with other technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs.
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment while operating machinery.
  • Assist in the training of junior mechanics as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Diesel Trade School or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience in construction machinery and other heavy equipment brands is preferred.
  • Strong background in vehicle maintenance, automotive repair, and service technician roles.
  • Ability to work on various types of machinery, including those that require suspension adjustments or digging capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work performed.
  • Must have a clean MVR and be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
