About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician - Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics to join our team at Ascension St. John Hospital. As a key member of our Department of Pediatrics, you will play a vital role in providing medical services to our pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
  • Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Accept patient referrals from other physicians and act as admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses.
  • Participate in academic programs, such as medical education and research, as requested.
  • Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements and appeal all denials in a timely manner.
  • Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on-call schedules.
  • Conduct mental health screenings, assessments, and deliver tailored treatment plans.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Physician MD/DO with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board of Medicine.
  • Preferred Credential: Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association.
  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
  • Additional Preferences: Completion of Pediatric residency program, Completion of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics fellowship program, and BC in specialty.
