About the Position
Suffolk University's Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor in Sociology. We are seeking candidates with a specialization in community or urban sociology, with sub-areas open (e.g. race, ethnicity, youth, sex, gender, diversity, employment, housing, health, family or other aspects of community and urban life).
Responsibilities
- Teach required and elective Sociology courses to undergraduates
- Advise and mentor undergraduate students
- Engage in service with the department, college, and university
Requirements
- PhD in sociology (or another relevant field) by the beginning of the 2025-26 academic year
- Experience teaching courses in sociology is preferred
