We are seeking a Veterinary Care Specialist to join our growing hospital to provide exceptional care to our patients. You will work alongside other skilled veterinary care professionals, support our credentialed veterinary technicians and doctors in the daily flow of the hospital.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist doctors and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, prepping patients for surgery and minor procedures, surgical assisting, and proactively setting up for any procedures or diagnostic tests.
  • Restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring manner.
  • Obtain accurate vitals, obtain medical histories, and/or note any changes in a patient's condition to the doctor.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory samples such as fecal, urine, and ear cytologies.
  • Care and maintenance of all medical equipment, including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and any other tools essential to daily operations.
  • High-quality client communication on patient updates and questions.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED certificate.
  • Flexible schedule, including some weekend and vacation shifts.
  • Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling.
  • Strong communication skills, good judgment, and the ability to manage stressful situations and work with others on a team respectfully.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
