Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in comprehensive software development primarily utilizing Java to implement improvements to current functionalities.
  • Work alongside a team of software and systems engineers in an agile setting to assess requirements and formulate user stories for development planning.

  • Provide tier 2 and 3 support for deployed solutions and address any bug fixes.

  • Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict outcomes and consequences of design.
  • Implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development standards.
  • Oversee one or more software development teams to ensure project completion aligns with the constraints of the utilized software development process.
  • Collaborate with system and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and gather information on project limitations and capabilities.
  • Coordinate software system installations and monitor equipment performance to ensure operational specifications are achieved.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
    • Four (4) years of additional software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Experience with Enterprise Java development.
  • Experience in developing service-oriented architectures.
  • Experience in creating microservice solutions.
  • Database experience with technologies such as MongoDB or MySQL.
  • Understanding of parameters and values represented in cellular communications.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Java Spring Framework (e.g., Spring Boot).
  • Familiarity with ElasticSearch.
  • Proficiency in Java development IDEs (e.g., IntelliJ, Eclipse).
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
  • Experience with GitLab.
  • Knowledge of container technologies (e.g., Docker).
