Master Baker and Pastry Artisan

Join us at Allen Marine Inc as a Master Baker and Pastry Artisan in the heart of Alaska. We offer an exciting opportunity to work on board our vessels, where you will be responsible for creating delectable baked goods and pastries for our guests and crew.

This is a dynamic role that requires a highly skilled and experienced baker with a passion for delivering exceptional food quality. As a Master Baker and Pastry Artisan, you will be responsible for leading the bakery team in the preparation of all bakery products, including bread, pastries, cakes, and other sweet treats.

You will be working closely with our Head Chef to develop new recipes and menus, ensuring that our offerings are always fresh, innovative, and tailored to meet the tastes and preferences of our discerning guests.

• Develop and implement high-quality bakery products, including bread, pastries, cakes, and other sweet treats.
• Lead the bakery team in the preparation and presentation of all bakery products.
• Work closely with the Head Chef to develop new recipes and menus, ensuring that our offerings are always fresh, innovative, and tailored to meet the tastes and preferences of our guests.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in the bakery and galley areas.
• Assist in the loading, handling, and storage of food and related items to maintain inventory levels and ensure proper rotation of perishable and non-perishable food items.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Chef or vessel management.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced baker with a strong background in pastry arts. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and have a passion for delivering exceptional food quality.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

• Culinary certification through school or previous company.
• 2-4 years of experience in the culinary or restaurant industry within the last 2 years.
• Extensive baking and pastry experience, as well as a wide variety of international baked goods knowledge.
• Communication skills and ability to relate to guests and employees at all levels.
• Ability to train and supervise others and be able to review their work.
• Must pass a security background check and DOT drug test.
• Alaska Food Worker Card issued by DEC.
