The Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit will be responsible for the following:
- The RN serves as a licensed healthcare professional, coordinating patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Utilizing the nursing process, the RN evaluates patients, identifies nursing diagnoses based on health responses, formulates and executes a personalized care plan, and assesses patient outcomes.
- The RN ensures safe transitions for patients by leveraging knowledge of their needs and the healthcare setting to prevent complications and delays.
- Delegation of care tasks is performed in accordance with the Texas Nursing Practice Act, considering each patient's condition and the competencies of the staff.
- Clinical Judgment: Employs clinical reasoning to conduct thorough assessments, prioritizing patient and family needs while developing and adjusting care plans to achieve clinical goals.
- Clinical Inquiry: Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices, supporting evidence-based changes through research and practical experience.
- Caring Practices: Fosters a compassionate and therapeutic environment for patients and families, managing emotional and physical discomfort to promote healing.
- Response to Diversity: Acknowledges and integrates the unique cultural, spiritual, and personal differences of patients and families into individualized care plans.
- Advocacy: Upholds patient confidentiality, autonomy, and rights, ensuring care plans reflect patient values and addressing ethical concerns.
- Facilitation of Learning: Promotes education for patients, families, and healthcare team members, aiding informed decision-making regarding health and treatments.
- Collaboration: Works cooperatively with colleagues and the community to create and implement a cohesive care plan, ensuring effective delegation and follow-up.
- Systems Thinking: Applies problem-solving strategies and resource management to enhance patient care delivery.
- Professionalism: Engages in shared governance and decision-making to improve nursing practices and the work environment, committing to ongoing professional development.
- Qualified candidates should possess strong clinical experience, particularly in Telemetry or Step-Down Telemetry.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Possession of a valid California Registered Nurse License
- Current National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Current National Provider ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
- At least 1 year of nursing experience
- Preferred: 1 year of ICU experience is highly desirable.
Compensation: $92,664 - $146,689 per year
