We are seeking a skilled and compassionate PACU Nurse PRN to join our team at TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center. As a PACU Nurse PRN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:- Receives post-surgical report from CRNA and circulator, including airway patency, patient vital signs during procedure, type of anesthesia used, dressings, drains, and fluid intake/output.
- Maintenance of post-operative drains, including JP, Hemovac, Pleurovac, and foley catheters.
- Maintenance of patient airway, including oral airways, nasal airways, and ETT.
- Assess and treat pain based on parameters given by physician, ordering pain medication, and being alert for signs of overmedication and anaphylaxis.
- Provides updates to appropriate individuals identified by the patient.
- Oversees quality assurance activities and communicates any concerns to the physician.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse - Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with current TN RN licensure or compact licensure.
- 1 year of ICU, ER, or PACU experience required.
