Role Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to enhance our litigation team. This permanent role will focus on Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury cases. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in civil litigation, with 3-5 years of relevant experience, and will be adept in drafting legal documents, conducting research, and representing clients in court.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters, including medical malpractice.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to inform case strategies.
  • Draft essential legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Represent clients in various legal proceedings, including court hearings and depositions.
  • Argue motions and present cases effectively before judges and arbitrators.
  • Oversee the discovery process, including drafting and responding to legal inquiries.
  • Conduct and defend depositions of witnesses.
  • Stay updated on legal developments pertinent to ongoing cases.
  • Provide insightful legal analysis and advice to clients and colleagues.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to align on goals and expectations.
  • Offer updates on case progress and strategic direction.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution.
  • Assess settlement proposals and counsel clients on potential outcomes.
  • Mentor junior associates to foster their professional growth.


Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Michigan.
  • 3-6 years of experience in civil litigation, particularly in medical malpractice or personal injury.
  • Strong skills in drafting, research, and legal writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with precision.
  • A desire to develop a client base, supported by the firm’s resources and network.
