Overview:

Responsibilities:
Assist providers and clinical staff with obtaining vital information, preparing patients for examination and treatment, and performing minor surgical procedures.
Demonstrate clinical skills and competencies necessary to carry out assigned job duties, including drawing and collecting blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis.
Administer ordered medical and/or vaccines, and track follow-up appointments related to office visits, laboratory tests, and procedures.
Schedule referrals for patients with specialists or outpatient services as requested by providers, and complete appropriate forms or requisitions needed for referrals or lab testing.
Provide timely and accurate documentation in patients' electronic health records using standardized workflows and processes.

Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants, with a high school diploma required for work in a moderately complex CLIA lab.
Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred, with computer data entry experience and current CME certification for Certified Medical Assistant and AAMA, NCCT, RMA, or NHA certification.
Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
