Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Engineer to join our team at Insight Global. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced automation systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ramp Manufacturing Lines: Develop and implement control systems for mechanical automation equipment, robots, electromechanical systems, PLCs, motion controls, and vision systems.
  • Program State Machines: Design and program state machines for complex processes involving multi-station parallel processing, pick and place automation, data acquisition, and PID control.
  • Safety Standards: Implement controls for reliable safety systems to safeguard robots, gantries, conveyors, and other high-volume manufacturing equipment, adhering to ANSI/RIA15.06 and OSHA standards.
  • PLC Code Management: Define and manage a methodology for maintaining PLC code structure and backups.
  • MES Interface: Interface with the Tesla Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to communicate product acceptability, machine status, and process variables.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline: Controls and Computer Control Systems, Computer Science, Mechatronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, etc., or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as a hands-on Mechanical/Manufacturing Controls Engineer working on automation and/or electromechanical systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in programming industrial equipment in all IEC languages with a focus on structured text and ladder logic.
  • Experience with Beckhoff, Omron, Siemens, B&R, and/or Mitsubishi.
  • Human Machine Interface (HMI / GUI - AB Panelview, Ignition, TIA/WinCC, B&R, etc.)
Compensation and Benefits

$65/hr to $70/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
