Behavioral Healthcare Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Lifespan Corporation. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
About the Job DescriptionAs a Behavioral Healthcare Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing direct care and support to patients with mental health conditions. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Communicating individual patient status as it relates to safety initiatives and the care plan
- Complying with unit policies and procedures and demonstrating the ability to set consistent and supportive therapeutic limits within unit and department standards
- Providing input as a collaborative team member and documenting significant patient/family interactions per unit protocol in a timely manner
- Observing patients in activities of daily living in accordance with established goals
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience working in the healthcare field, preferably with the behavioral health population
- Strong analytical skills and an understanding of psychiatric illnesses
This is a general hospital environment with occasional stressful conditions associated with patient care. You must be able to walk and be on your feet for a minimum of 4 hours to perform continuous rounding and safety checks.
