Job Summary:We are seeking a Paraeducator Monitor to join our team at Minnesota Service Cooperatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the cafeteria, playground, and other common areas during the lunch period, escorting students as needed, and addressing any concerns that arise. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
Monitor the cafeteria, playground, and other common areas during the lunch period
Escort students as needed to/from the office, nurse's office, etc.
Recognize and address escalating/emergency situations, call for help, and defuse/assist with the situation until help arrives
Perform light first aid as needed
Identify and report students who leave the building without prior authorization
Assist with limited cleaning functions such as wiping off lunch tables, mopping up spills, picking up trash, etc.
Maintain communication with other staff members via two-way radio
Other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Prior experience working with school-aged youth is preferred
